I spent my childhood playing and competing in a wide range of sports; gymnastics, tennis, netball, triathlon, surf life saving and swimming to name a few! Competing at a high level across a number of these sports seeded my passion for exercise science, which ultimately led me down the path of coaching in the fields of exercise and nutrition science. I studied at the University of South Australia, completing a double degree with a Bachelor of Exercise and Sports Science and Nutrition and Food Sciences. In my 4th year of university, I was awarded an internship at the Adelaide Crows Football Club, and went on to work in their high performance sporting environment for 5 years, specifically as a Sports Nutritionist with their Crows AFLW team. Throughout my time at the AFC I was lucky enough to be a part of two premiership wins with the AFLW team (2019 & 2022), this role allowed me to work closely with elite level female athletes, a population i hope to continue working closely with throughout my career.
AB Performance Nutrition was established in 2020, and is a space where myself and my team get to empower athletes and active individuals of all ages and levels to fuel their bodies for health and performance in sport, exercise and life in general! I take an evidenced based, holistic and balanced approach to nutrition and overall health, which I believe is key in supporting clients to become the healthiest and highest performing version of themselves. In between running my business I love spending time at the beach or anywhere along our beautiful SA coastline! I love spending time outdoors, travelling the world and dining out at delicious restaurants with my family and friends. I am definitely no Masterchef but my cooking skills have come a long way since I started working in nutrition! I love feeling fit and strong, and pushing myself mentally and physically in the gym - another place you’ll find me fairly regularly!
Growing up in a family full of health and medical professionals, I knew from a young age that my future career was going to be somewhere in this space. At certain stages in my adolescence, I considered physiotherapy, exercise physiology, medicine, and of course nutrition/dietetics. I was always quite heavily involved in sports, primarily playing softball, netball and basketball, and went on to represent South Australia at a junior level in softball. It was at a training camp where we had a sports dietitian speak to us about fuelling for performance that really piqued my interest in nutrition. From then on, I knew that I wanted to be a sports dietitian. I went on to complete a Bachelor of Nutrition and Dietetics (Honours) at Flinders University, completing my Sports Dietetics Course not long after graduating. Since then, I've worked at Flinders University Sport & Fitness, helping to support athletes from a wide range of sports as part of the Athlete Development Program.
My approach is evidence-based, holistic and client-centered, helping me work with clients to achieve their full potential both on and off the field.
Outside of my role as a Dietitian, I have also been working as a KX Pilates instructor for over 3 years, and I love the balance this has given me in my career. When I'm not working, I love staying active (my favourites include reformer Pilates, strength training & running), reading, watching medical dramas, catching up with friends & family and spending time with my two beautiful dogs! I also enjoy being creative, whether that be in the kitchen, or with some simple craft projects.
